When Mia Brister was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, she was only 24 years old. She was in a great place in life and couldn't believe when doctors in the emergency room told her they had found tumors in her scan.
She was further devastated by the loss of her hair and the changes she was experiencing. Over the months, she learned to love and care for herself and cherish the good things in life instead of chasing those people and things she couldn't control or that didn't positively impact her.
It's a story we should all learn from. Mia tells us all, "Loving yourself is the best thing you could ever do, just remember to be gentle, you are doing the best you can."
