Cancer is a devasting disease and is one that takes a financial toll as well as a physical one. Even with Medical insurance, treatments and deductibles can be a financial stretch for most people. Anyone of us could find ourselves in this position having drained all resources fighting for our lives and facing difficulty scraping together funds for basic needs like Rent and Utilities as they near the end of their battle.
Anyone who has spent the final days with a loved one dying of cancer or other disease understands that those moments are very precious, and the gift of time can be the greatest of all.
After experiencing the loss of loved ones to cancer, and understanding the need and desire to be with them in the end, Beloved Foundation offers families financial support to help care for their loved ones in their last days of life. We have found that many families in this situation have trouble getting their basic needs met, like housing, food, utilities and medication. Beloved offers financial support grants to help with these basic needs for up to 2 months for those qualifying recipients.
Recipients are typically nominated by a network of hospice care nurses. The Board of Directors then evaluates each situation and determines the amount and length of support given to each family.
Beloved also offers Counseling services, Meals, Housekeeping and other "Daily Living"support services to grant recipients.
