Art Therapy Has A Positive Impact on Stressed Caregivers

A new study by researchers from both Drexel University's Creative Art Therapies department in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania showed how coloring and open-studio therapy can help caregivers of cancer patients with stress.
Before and After participating in coloring or other art therapies, participants were asked to rate their stress, positive and negative emotions. An increase in positive emotions and a decrease in stress were reported and many also expressed a desire to continue with art therapies.
